BOARD OF DEACONS ANNUAL REPORT
The Deacons held a very successful fund raising Fiesta Dinner in May, which served about 100 people. The monies went to the Deacon's Fund, which serves the congregation and community as needed. We thank the congregation for their support and, especially, Deacons Edith Charleman and Anabelle Ruiz for their hard work.
The members of the board provided several dinners for the Alpha program throughout the year.
The Deacons held their traditional Palm Sunday Breakfast with a full breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, bagels and various beverages. Many thanks for all the work and support by the members of the congregation.
The seniors of the church were honored with a special luncheon in June. The Deacons hosted farewell parties for Jean Forsberg and Vivian Dimm. They were presented with gifts and good-bye cards from the congregation.
The board has also supplied many cakes and refreshments for special activities after the church service, including a farewell party for Susan Maiz.
The Deacons supplied Thanksgiving food baskets to seven families from our community and church.
The Mitten Tree project for the women of the Walter Hoving Home was again very successful with many gifts given. We again thank the congregation for their generosity.
Last but not least is the weekly ushering and coffee hour provided by the Deacons. We thank the congregation for their assistance with these responsibilities. Personally, I would like to thank the Board of Deacons for making this an enjoyable and godly serving experience.
In the service of God,
John McDonnell,
